Our Lady’s High School, Motherwell 6th year pupils along with S6 pupils from St. Aidan’s High School enjoyed a five day pilgrimage to Rome in February. This was a first for both schools.

During the pilgrimage, the pupils enjoyed tours of Ancient and Historic Rome but amongst the many highlights were Mass at St. Andrea della Frate , the late Cardinal Winning’s Titular Church in Rome, a visit to Scavi and The Angelus said by Pope Benedict XVI in St Peter’s Square on Sunday 11th February at mid-day.

Most memorable for staff, clergy and pupils alike was the Mass to celebrate the Feast Day of Our Lady of Lourdes in St.Peter’s Basilica. This Mass was said by the Cardinal and the appearance of Pope Benedict XVI to receive a special golden crown for the statue of Our Lady of Lourdes was indeed a very special memory for all to treasure.

Our Lady's pupils are now fundraising for this year's 6th year to follow in their footsteps.
