Construction is one of the vocational programmes Middle School pupils can take part in. We spoke to two 3rd year boys, currently on theprogramme and asked them to tell us more about it.

Q. Why did you pick construction?
A. I picked construction because I didn’t like the other options on the timetable and I was interested in it.

Q. What kind of work do you do?
A. We do Bricklaying, Joinery and painting. We learn how to do these and how to do them safely.

Q. Do you enjoy it?
A. Yes, it is very good.

Q. What do you enjoy the most?
A. Joinery and painting are the best because they are very interesting.

Q. What teachers teach it?

A. There are two teachers, Mr Rodgers and Mr Cole.

Q. Would you recommend it?
A. Yes, I would recommend it to pupils who are thinking of opting for this subject or who think they might want to work in construction when they leave school.
