Tinto Hill Hike

Photo: S1 pupils proudly collapsed at the summit of Tinto Hill.

A group of 1st year pupils accompanied by staff walked to the top of Tinto Hill today to raise funds for St Andrew's Hospice.

We are hoping that some of those who took part will provide a report on the day, but we're waiting until they get their breath back.

Work Experience

Mr Gerry Law has organised some work experience with a difference for a group of 3rd year pupils. The eight pupils (three girls and five boys) will spend a week at Gareloch under the command of the army, just as if they were new recruits.

This experience has been extremely well received in the past, whether pupils are intending a career in the armed services or not. On previous occasions, pupils have had an opportunity to take part in abseiling, assault courses, cross country runs, camping and survival training and have returned to school highly motivated by their experiences.
