Football

The big story of the last few years in football terms was the fantastic achievement of one of our senior football teams.Against the odds these talented players won for themselves and for the glory of the school the most coveted Scottish Schoolboys Trophy.........' The Senior Scottish Shield '
This was the one to one to win...Our Lady's U18 team were officially the best in the country in 2000..and what made this all the more amazing was the size of the pool of potential players that Mrs Mullholland, the team manager, had to choose from. Our Lady's with a roll of 650 pupils were up against schools with pupil rolls double our own.Below you can see some photographs of the delighted squad taken after the match which was played at Scotland's national stadium...Hampden Park.
What a fantastic achievement for all concerned and what wonderful memories the boys will carry with them for the rest of their lives.Well done to the lads !!

Since these photographs were taken, one of the team,Stephen Pearson (4th from left in back row) had signed with Motherwell FC and had established himself as a regular first team player. As a result of his excellent performances with Motherwell Stephen has recently signed with Celtic F.C. and is quickly becoming an established first team player.
